JUPITER AT ITS CLOSEST, BRIGHTEST, BIGGEST IT CAN GET THIS YEAR
Jupiter Opposition On 14th Aug & closest approach on 15th Aug.
Spot through Naked Eye up to Feb 2010
On 14th August,2009 at 11.23 p.m. Planet Jupiter (Bruhaspati/Guru in Hindi or Telugu) would be at opposition. At this point Sun- Earth- Jupiter would in one straight line i.e. an observer would note in the skies that Sun is on one end and Jupiter on other end opposite to each other. Further due to this phenomenon Planet Jupiter would at its closest it can get to earth this year.
